Quoting Reuters, Samsung through an application for customers, Samsung Members, asked Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 users to update biometric features to the latest software. Previously, a Galaxy S10 user told the British newspaper The Sun, saying that his smartphone could be opened even with fingerprints that had not yet been registered. Samsung said such cases could occur because smartphones use a protective form of silicon, which will be recognized by the device along with attached fingerprints. “We take product security very seriously. Therefore, we ensure we will strengthen security by continuing to improve and update the biometric authentication function,” Samsung said. Previously, Samsung said it would send notifications to users to update the software on the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 specifically for users who enabled biometric authentication.
