Patients who had their information compromised between June 2020 and January were alerted early this month by UMass Memorial Health. The Telegram & Gazette said Thursday that the personal data included Social Security numbers, insurance information, and medical information. According to a federal database of cybersecurity breaches at medical facilities, the intrusion could have affected over 200,000 patients and health plan members. According to the hospital, it examined the issue but was unable to identify how much personal information was stolen. Patients who are affected will receive free credit monitoring and data protection.
